Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your minimum age for boarding a pet?
A: Because cats and dogs under 4 months may not have had all their vaccinations yet, they are more vulnerable to catching airborne viruses and might not be able to easily fight them off. Therefore, our minimum age requirement is 4 months. Our advice is to board puppies and kittens at your veterinarian's clinic until they are fully immunised.

Q: Should I be concerned about boarding my pet for the first time?
A: Don’t worry, it won’t take long for your pet to settle into the routine at the retreat. We keep our feeding and exercise schedule consistent, so your pet will feel confident he or she is safe and cared for. We also keep a regular schedule for cleaning and monitoring. We feed our pet guests in the morning and late afternoon.

Q: Can I phone to check on my pet?
Absolutely. Just call us on 0410 331 744 anytime and we'll be happy to let you know how your pet is doing. There is always someone here 24/7 to look after your pets.

Q: Does my pet need a booking?
A: Yes, bookings are required. Our kennels book very quickly on weekends and holidays, so we advise booking your pet’s stay in advance. You can book online or simply give us a call.

Q: Do you require a deposit or have a cancellation fee?
A: No deposit is required and there are no cancelation fees. We understand that plans change however please give us as much notice as possible.

Q: What are your check-in and check-out times?
A: Our regular hours are between 8am to 5pm. We just need an estimated time of arrival so that we can plan our day.

Q: Can all my pets stay together in the same space?
A: We can accommodate up to three cats or dogs in the same enclosure however only if they are from the same family and get along together. Cats and dogs cannot be boarded together.

Q: Does my pet need to have certain vaccinations prior to boarding?
A: We need all pets in our care to be fully vaccinated. We require C5 for dogs and F3 for cats.

Q: While my dog is boarding with you, will he be taken out for walks?
A: All of our guests are let into a fenced run each day (weather permitting), for fun and exercise. Dogs are taken for a 1.6 kilometre walk (Dog walk track) around our 40 hectare property everyday and we may be able to provide extra walks if requested.

Q: Can my pets have their favourite toys with them while boarding?
A: Absolutely, you can bring one or two of their favourite toys. We suggest they are marked with your last name in permanent marker. It's just like school, if your stuff is labelled, it will come back! Unless it's eaten by another dog of course.

Q: What happens if my pet becomes ill or needs medical attention during their stay?
A: Should your pet become ill or require medical attention while you’re away, we will make every effort to contact you immediately.. There are no costs from us to transport your pet to our preferred veterinarian, Harradine and Associates, Bussell Highway, Bunbury. The cost of the consultation is the responsibility of owners.

Q: My pet requires a special diet. Can I provide their food for their stay?
A: Absolutely, however discuss with us first as we may have your preferred food available.

Q: Do I need to bring bedding for my pet?
A: Dogs sleep on our trampoline beds with a Snooza brand mattress and cats have a Snooza brand Igloo inside and a pillow on a chair when they choose to be in their outside enclosed area. All bedding is freshly washed so has a distinct smell of Cold Power!. You are welcome to bring bedding items that smell of home if you wish.
